the CROQUE MADAME
On the reclaimed marshlands between the Idyllic Field and The Bizarre, a hidden gem awaited discovery at Down the Rabbit Hole: the debut of the CROQUE Madame, a sensational revue club brought to life by MAISON the FAUX and Down The Rabbit Hole. In this secret haven, guests were swept into a dazzling world teetering on the edge of decadent opulence and deconstruction. At the CROQUE Madame, life beyond the norm is celebrated, explored, and protected. This enchanting venue offered a lush setting of velvet, feathers, and spotlights—a dreamscape for cabaret, burlesque, and other theatrical delights, featuring everything from the mind-blowing MAISON the FAUX Revue to The House of Hopelezz, Fenix: From the Fire, the Fire, Striptopia, the in-house DJs YoungWoman and TWIENA, and a live performance by COBRAH. Each night, Gatorland DJs brought the house down with a raw underground dance set, blending garage, punk, and rock 'n' roll over deep grooves of laser-guided synths, wave, eighties, electro, and eclectic jazz and tropicalia. Julius Thissen curated a special collection of video art for the CROQUE Madame, on behalf of Museum Arnhem. This collection played all weekend on the club’s flashy billboard, adding a visual dimension to the experience.
